#06 - On The Beach (1959). Nuclear War.

#07 - Logan's Run (1976). Nuclear War.
#08 - No Blade Of Grass (1970). Famine.
#09 - The Day Of The Triffids (1962). Mass Blindness / Man-Eating Plants.
#10 - Night Of The Comet (1984). The Trail Of A Comet Wipes Out Life On Earth.

There you have it - ten movies filmed after the apocalypse. Tell me the films and win a bottle of Jango Fett bubble bath.
I actually have my own plan for the end of the world, and I'm pretty sure I'll survive. Unless it's a flood. I'm basically fucked if it's a flood.

Only 50% D'oh!

How are tricks?

Tricks are good if you don't count having to cough up £1500+ VAT for a new boiler for the Balham flat.
Had the tenant threatening to stop paying rent. Otherwise things are ace.
Only 40% - #5 ain't Soylent Green!

Dom, that is really bad. I can't believe you've had to pay that much. Hope you are ok.

I love post-apocalyptic films - they are ace. I don't think I can do anymore than niowulf...I bet St. Anthony can get some more. He is King of films.

Blimey - this one's running & running.
Well, it's lasted more than ten minutes anyway.

Hi, sorry, off topic I know but just wanted to say thanks for the Hassel covers backaways - am lovin'em lots. Been down that Londin fer last week working - no beaches down there, as you know all too well, but you can run into a fuckin' big fat loud awstrallian thing in Earls Court Tube that looks a bit like a female, who will scream abuse and shout and try to gouge your eyes out 'cos your suitcase rolls over her pointless redundant toe even though you squeal "SORRY" as soon it happens and you realise you are the worst piece of scum in the universe 'cos you probably meant to do it to her with malice aforethought.... that is of course if you go back in time and be me at 10:31 am this morning (Sat 24 - started ranting this just before midnight!).

Nice one Klaus...though #08 is not Quintet. Nice one on getting Night Of The Comet.
I think you & Niowulf have pretty much cleaned up.
Just 8 & 9 left...
Davider...if it was an Australian I wouldn't worry.

#8 has to be No Blade Of Grass, a fine film.

Dominic Zero said...

Indeed it is..well done for getting the uber-obscure one.#
#9 I thought would be pretty easy...evidently it's not though.

niowulf said...

Is that No Blade of Grass as in the book you sent me.

Bummer about the boiler but unfortunately £1500 + VAT is about the cheapest quote you will get. Brit Gas normally want about £3000. Amazing considering that the unit is about £500 and takes about 4 hours to fit and test.

Feckin' tossers.

Yeah - 'No Blade Of Grass' is the film of 'Death Of Grass'.
Got a fantastic John Christopher book off Ebay today - will post when I get it.
Yeah - the boiler - pissed off about the money - but more pissed off that the contracter fucked about for 2 weeks before assessing the problem - so the tenan't Realy Pissed Off.

Gonna have to reveal #09 soon if nobody gets it. It's a really famous film.

'Ere, no 9 - it's not that bloody film with Kurt Russell "Escape from new York" or somesuch title, is it? I must admit I am guessing wildly 'cos I ain't seen it fer years and I don't remember a man wearing green face paint being slapped around the mush with a post-apocalyptic jam rag. D0n't even know if that film is strictly post-apocalyptic in the true sense of the term... oh God, I'm so desperate.. forgive me...

Dominic Zero said...

No, it's not Escape From NY - but that is technically a Post- Apoc film, and it almost made it in there.

I'm just really laughing at the comments. Davider...that is so funny what you said about the tube.

Ranting and raving about boilers amidst post-apocalyptic guesses.

This is just fantastic. I wish everyone was like you lot. Life would be just grand.

El Duderino said...

Damn, #9 looks really familiar. Is it 'The Crazies'? Just a wild guess, but a good film anyway.

Dominic Zero said...

OK, game over Dudes. I need closure on this so I can move on with my life and continue planning for the actual Apocalypse.
You Lost.
Molly, I wish I was like me too.

Dominic Zero said...

Duderino: Must've been posting the same time as you.
Almost put in The Crazies, but I decided that technically it's not Post Apocalypse, it's kind of During-Apocalypse.

Funnily enough I'm re-reading the book at the moment. Check out The Kraken Wakes if you haven't already - it's genius.
Howard Keel's in the film. It's mucho better than the TV series.

niowulf said...

The Triffids, damn. It looked like the guy off that Husband and Wife amateur detective team with the growly butler guy.
