Niowulf Goes National

Good to see the Niowulf Conglomerate in The Daily Telegraph last Saturday. Apparently they're all Wii enthusiasts. I'm not sure how they just happened to be at The Brixton Bar & Grill when the national press showed up, but I'm sure there was no premeditation or sinister intention of rendering themselves globally famous then using their new found power to evil ends.
To quote Hardcore Gamer Niowulf himself (not pictured): 'When something comes out, I like to get hold of it'. I don't know how he got out of being in the picture, but the man standing in for him has clearly not done his research as the real Nio would have put a lot more thought into his pose and would be holding some kind of 'Nam chain gun rather than one of those Wii things.
Hey, maybe that's why they substituted him.

Bob The Nailer

Just finished watching 'Shooter' - the straight to video adaptation of Stephen Hunter's 'Point Of Impact'. Not bad at all, a rather fine sniper fest, and even though Marky "Mark" Wahlberg is too young & not nearly grizzled enough to play Bob The Nailer it's a stripped down but pretty faithful version of the book.
I recommend going out and renting it so the producers can make their money back.

Hot Tuna

Had a monumental drinking binge with Mark "Mark Webb" Webb on Saturday night and am now into my second day of being hungover. Got lizard pissed and remember little other than finding out we were still really good at pool, discussing why 'Hannibal' is such a shit book for the best part of an hour and slagging off Big Cat Diary (for fuck's sake..point the camera at the fucking animals). This was my first venture into the world of pubs since the Nazi smoking ban came into being...and I actually found it okay. Mainly because we sat in the beer garden.
Anyway, cheers for stopping by dude.

The Fett House

Pictures of The Fett House courtesy of the greatly missed Toby, currently roaming the infront of The Australias.
I know nothing about this great place other than it exists.

13 Bullets

Just finished reading this...which I discovered over on the excellent Bookgasm (see..I do read other blogs). It's a vampires vs. cops goreathon kind of a thing which, like nearly all books these days, is 100 pages too long. Still, it's a laugh.
I may have to hunt down his debut Monster Island...just because it's called Monster Island.

Good Day

What a fantastic day. My Ebay feedback reached 2000 and 2003 World Pool Champion Jason 'Tornado' Twist parked his car outside our house all day. Well, he does live round here, so I guess it's not that exciting. Except that IT IS.
And on top of that X Factor's back - proper fucking Saturday night telly. It's the first series since Mrs Zero & I moved in together so it'll be interesting to see if it our marriage can take the strain.

Greg Land Fluffathon

Greg Land, Uber Fluff Meister. Been accused of tracing
photos & ripping off other people's art and redoing his own. It's also been said that he can only do one face.
And who cares anyway? In my book he's up there with Jim Steranko and Gene Colan as a top rate Fluff penciller.
Check out The Serpent Squad (right), they rock.
When I get some time I'll dig up some J Scott Campbell, that'll be a tres interesting project.

Die Hard 4.0

I feel really bad about not getting around to see Die Hard 4.0 at the pictures. Been too busy. I've let myself down, I've let Niowulf down & most importantly I've let Bruce Willis down.
The only place it's still playing round here is Ilfracombe - but that would be like a real life experience of the Snow White scene from Gremlins. I'm not a snob but I have to draw the line somewhere.
I'm now considering a Bruce top ten as some kind of penance.
