Finally got hold of a copy of the elusive Vol.15 - been trying to get hold of it for approximately twenty years - and it feels damn good. I now have the complete set of English books. And it's got the best cover.

Saturday Night In The City Of The Dead
Had a blast of a night out with The Shirts last weekend. Went to see a couple of bands in Yeovil - Citrusboy and The Band That Flinty Drums In - both V Good too, although my socializing skills were undermined by Dick Vomit buying me strong lager (this not only screws up my ability to talk English, but it also results in uber-hiccups), so I basically talked the same shit I would've anyway but without any vowels. Appologies to anybody I didn't say goodnight to at the end - I may have said gdnght, I can't remember.
Anyway, suffice to say four hours in the Kek Bunker drinking Beam and listening to Ian Hunter seemed to solve the problem.
All the evening lacked was Song #1 by Serebro being played in between bands. I suggest Mr Flint sorts this problem out the next time he DJs.

Found a fantastic 2nd hand bookshop on Plymouth Quay called The Book Cupboard and went absolutely hog-wild. Spent £50. The bloke who runs it's a miserable bastard, he actually complained that I'd cleaned him out of John Norman Gor books, and the paperbacks are a tad on the pricey side, but basically it's a fantastic gigantic warehouse of a shop.
Old-school Cybermen, Lee Fucking Marvin and at last.. The Sucking Pit.

Julian Cope - Exeter Phoenix 14/05/2007
Met up with Mr Shirt for beer and entertainment in Exeter the other night.
A kind of one man show rather than a gig - I have always had a special place in my heart for Cope - he's just been out there doing his thing for so long that you can't deny his sincerity - he just is what he is and he's damn good at being Julian Cope.
Although I kind of haven't listened in on much he's done since the appalling Autogeddon, it seems like I haven't actually missed much - the majority of the set was familiar to me, which, of course, made for an easier night. Mellotron versions of 'You Disappear From View' and 'The Great Dominions' were fucking awesome.
He did a lot of ranting in between the songs which might sound a tad self-indulgent but for the most part was really funny - he does have a gift for the anecdote.
Anyway, this is all becoming too much like I'm trying to write a review. Suffice to say he did 'Sunspots', possibly the best version of 'Screaming Secrets' I've ever heard him do, a cracking 'Upwards At 45 Degrees' and wore a fucking cool hat.
All in all he's still a godamn Genius.
As a footnote, I don't know whether it was anything to do with the Copeness of the evening, but I felt like a complete cunt taking photos with a phone.

Starship Troopers
Well, my dilema is onefold...which do I keep? The top one is a 1961 Four Square 1st print with an Edward Mortelmans (he did loads of the early E R Burroughs covers in the 60s) cover.
The lower one...1968, not so rare, don't know the artist..but I like it too.
Life is very hard sometimes.
Anyway, gotta sell one, suggestions would be appreciated.
