Ah, More Presents.

Cheers Kek, for this and the Moorcocks, mucho appreciato. I'm well into reading Elric stuff at the moment - though I have no idea of the order they're supposed to be read in. Just finished The Sleeping Soceress, which features The Noose Of Flesh, a particularly unpleasant way to die.
The Wild Bunch, a gore fest of the best kind. I shall watch it as soon as I'm over Wednesday's Uber-Hangover, it'll kill me if I watch it feeling this grim.

Ah, phew....was worried it hadn't reached ya, maaan...posted it 1st class the day b4 yr b/day...a lorra people have been complaining how bad the post is getting in London...stuff getting nicked and so forth....

I figured Kate or Lurch'd prob. get you Outer Limits...and you'd prob. got yrself The Big red One. I 'spect you've prob. already got Wild Bunch on vhs, but I think this is the reconstructed/longer version. Nearly went for Cross of Iron, then though, ah, fuck it...

Yeah, the Noose of Flesh is nasty...just read Sleeping Sorceress myself, back in the summer. Psychbloke told me he's just finished reading the whole Elric saga in one go...never again, he said...so he's the guy to check for the right order...

The trouble with Cross Of Iron is (I was debating this with Toby just the other night) that it's too fucking much! It's a great film that I kind of never want to see again. So The Wild Bunch is ace - it's on for tonight after I'm A Celebrity...
Kate got me some groovy stuff inc Enter The Dragon & The Ultimates vol.1. Plus some other stuff which I'll post as soon as I get my hands on her digital camera.
Thanks again for the stuff..but I'm taking a rest from Elric & have started Pelucidar by E R Burroughs. I don't know what fucking order they're in either.

I think long as you read Stormbringer last, it probably doesn't matter too much....

Thanks..I'll bare that in mind. They do all seem to jump all over the place.

To be honest, until you get to Stormbringer, everything feels a bit formulaic to me. I have trouble remembering which artifact is being sought to overcome which Pan-Tang Sorcerer to save which wife at any given time.

I love the apocalyptic stuff in Stormbringer though. I read the whole lot over the summer and autumn, purely so that I could appreciate it at the end, but there were bits that wore me out and I must admit I pretty much skipped the whole story about entire cities being dragged along a gigantic trench on carts.......

Some individual bits of wonder though .... including that noose of flesh........

I know what you mean..I tend not to read them back to back. Having just finished Iron Council by China Mieville (a truly wonderous book) - some Elric then a dose of Burroughs was light relief.
