Hi - I saw your obit for Bob Ando and would like to know when you knew him at MBC. I was his PA at the beginning so might know you. Were there newspaper obits - if so we didn't see them? People at Thames would be interested. Thanks - Sheila
Hi Dan - Saw that, but they haven't included the late 50s Pan covers..don't know the artist, but they're fantastic.
Sheila - Heard about Bob second hand I'm afraid, so I don't have any details. I worked with him '96 through to whenever it was MBC packed up and went home, though there was less work there in the last year (2001?), so I hadn't seen him in a long while.
Yeah, I knew some were missing, the From Russia With Love cover I have isn't there. But that was a photograph rather than artwork. I think that one was a major influence on my formative years.
I'll dig a couple out later & post them...& I'll try and find out who the artist was too. I just read 'Moonraker', one of the ones I'd missed out on. It's fucking great, I'd forgotten how good they are. PS - Thanks for quoting my 'Review' on your blog!
Hi Dominic - thanks for replying. I assume you must have heard from someone at Thames as no-one from the family seems to have contacted anyone at Thames or any of his old mates. I was still in touch and he was in hospital in Swansea. Lovely man. Sheila x
Well, I actually heard via two cameramen - both freelance, so it could've come from anywhere. I'm actually as out of the TV Business as it's possible to get, both geographically & psychologically, but one of the few things I liked about the business was Bob.

Merry Christmas to all the Zero family! Also to the Refried variety! (Is that like Bubble and Squeak?)
I thought you'd stopped doing that to people on the High Street? I thought Cagney and Lacey told you off for it last time. :0
Have a great one. *Munches the twentieth chocolate truffle of the day*
And a Happy New Year to you!
Did you see this in the Indi on Friday?
