Reno Smith (Robert Ryan) - Bad Day At Black Rock (1958).

T-1000 (Robert Patrick) - Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991).

Captain Hank Quinlan (Orson Welles) - Touch Of Evil (1958).

Mr Joshua (Gary Busey) - Lethal Weapon (1997).

Major Paul Kruger (Robert Vaughn) - The Bridge At Remagen (1969).

Well, there you are. Now some of you may wonder why Boba Fett isn't up there. I dunno, either I don't think he's a villain - he's just doing his job - or I forgot.
Anyway, tell me the films & either the actor's name or the character's name. Or just tell me your top ten. Or don't.
Coming soon...Top Ten TV Fluff.

niowulf said...

Sorry #7 is Terminator 2

niowulf said...

Gary Busey not Busy like a bee. Wot happens when you have 6 pints between 4 and 7. Normally on the Crap Chikin around midnight after that lot.

niowulf said...

Robert Vaughn....The Bridge at Remagen.

Molly Bloom said...

Those comments are so funny. 'Normally on the crap chikin around midnight' - fantastic!

Yeah, what he said,,,

8 is Orsen Welles as Hank Quinlan in "Touch of Evil"

5 is Carpenter's "Assault on Precint 13" (Frank Doubleday?)

4 is "Cape Fear"

3 is Michelle Pfieffer as Cat-Woman

2 is Papa Jupiter from Craven's "The Hills have Eyes"

1 is agent twatface from "The Twatrix"

or "Twatrix: Retwatted" or "Twattrix: Twatolution"

one of them...

Molly Bloom said...

Ooh, I put my guesses upstairs...do they still count?

Dominic Zero said...

Ooo dear, somebody obviously doesn't like 'The Matrix' - actually it's 'Revolutions'.
Hmm, nobody's got #6.
Niowulf annoyingly got the Hard One again by getting Robert Vaughn in 'The Bridge At Remagen'.
#5 is right, but it's not Frank Doubleday, but hell, it's the right film & he doesn't have a character name.
Niowulf - I had a pasty at Clapham Junction, that's how I know I've been drinking round your way.

Dominic Zero said...

I may well do another 10 screen villains..there are so many more cool ones out there.
Still, #6 is a tough one I guess, but I'm sure somebody will get it, so I won't put the right names up for a couple of days.

I am not Kek-w said...

Oooops! Sorry, Molly...I only just spoted yr comments on the next level up...yeah, I reckon you got in there first wid them! Didn't mean to claim-jump ya! "Touch of Evil" is one of my fave films, so that one was easy-peasy...

Yeah, still scratching my head on #6 and I had nooo idea what the Robert vaughn one was if the Gregster hadn't said...

RE: Frank Doubleday, Dom...any idea what his name is, then?...he's in "Escape from NY" too, isn't he, and doesn't he play Michael Meyers too...?

Dominic Zero said...

Yeah, it's Nick Castle according to my sources - played The Shape in Halloween & the filed teeth guy in Escape From NY.
Yeah, Vaughn I thought would be a tough one, but Greg caught me out.
It's not a great film but Robert Vaughn in Nazi leather coat has to go on the list.
Orson is just ace in Touch Of Evil.

I am not Kek-w said...

Ah, hey, man...you up and still at the PC...cool!

I'm out in the garage having a drink and blasting some fucked-up 60s Psych...

"It's not a great film but Robert Vaughn in Nazi leather coat has to go on the list." Yeah, he was born to wear one...

I looove Orson...just watched "Lady from Shanghai" last week...fantastic! First time I've seen it since I binned my straight-from-TV collection...

Got sent a cool DVD from one of my contacts in the states that I'm gonna copy and send on to you soon...the picture quality ain't great but I know you'll dig it...

I am not Kek-w said...

PS Nick castle...great name!

Dominic Zero said...

Cool.
Yeah, I'm scanning a pile of books I got in Rochester the other day.
Turns out I could be wrong about Nick Castle - it might be Frank Doubleday after all...which means he didn't play The Shape.

Dominic Zero said...

I love Robert Vaughn..he can do no wrong by me.

I am not Kek-w said...

"Battle beyond the Stars"...yay!

Dominic Zero said...

Oh, yeah. He played the same character as he did in The Magnificent Seven.
He's a God.

I am not Kek-w said...

A typecast God. :-)

Big up "The Protectors"

Did you ever watch him in "Hustle"?
Can't stand BBC dramas meself, but wondered if he was any good in it...

Dominic Zero said...

I watched Hustle a couple of times & couldn't get into it..usual BBC pap.
Apparently he was going to go into politics in the late 60s but 'Bullitt' ruined it for him. He'd played the dodgy politician one too many times.
But the director (i can't remember his name) told me he was a really nice bloke.

Dominic Zero said...

PS - Gotta go..'Raw Deal' has just started.

I am not Kek-w said...

Yeah, I'm off to watch some Damon Packard...see ya!

niowulf said...

errrr! who is Greg/Gregster??

Molly Bloom said...

I think you should definitely do another ten. Oh go on. You've definitely got me excited. I'm going to go and have another look at Number 6. I bet Kek's garage is cool if you can sit in it. What I'd really, really like to see is a Top 10 scariest moments of all time. That would really get me all of a quiver.

Molly Bloom said...

No. 6 is 'Bad Day at Black Rock' - Robert Ryan. I think the character is called Reno Smith. Another fine film.

I am not Kek-w said...

My garage is a pocket-universe...a micro-bubble time-slice thru the rear-end of 1973.

Robert Ryan sounds plausible.

Dominic Zero said...

Indeed it's 'Bad Day At Black Rock'. That's a hard film.
Niowulf - don't know who Greg is..must be a typo.
Scariest moments? Will have to think about that. It might include the whole three hours of 'Titanic'.

I am not Kek-w said...

Yeah, but are we talking 10 Scariest Moments in an ironic or catastrophic sense...that might be fun to do rather than straight-up Horror/Thrillers....

Yeah, "Titantic" fer sure...

I reckon "Pearl Harbour" would have to feature in there somewhere..

Dominic Zero said...

..And possibly 'About A Boy', which I had the misfortune to see recently.

Molly Bloom said...

Oh God...please...the mention of 'Titanic' and 'About a Boy' in one comment space has made me feel sick. I've had to evacuate my stomach. Retch. Gag. Retch. Yes, iconic and catastrophic at the same time. I get excited when people suggest going to see a film...then my heart sinks whenever they start reeling off what they want to see...sigh.

Give me the Kremaster Trilogy! Give me blood spatter or subtitles. Hurrah!

Molly Bloom said...

I like the idea of Kek's garage. Shall we jump on a zoomtrain and go and sit in it with him? I might get over my 'sickness' then.

Molly Bloom said...

oooppsss - meant cremaster.

I am not Kek-w said...

"The idea of Kek's garage"...yeah, it's a gin-soaked abstract concept.

"Wimbledon the movie."

"Mickey Blue Eyes."

Molly Bloom said...

Oh no.....I can't cope with this.
Hugh Grant has been in some absolute crud.

I don't think I can bring myself to write this....

'Four Weddings and a Funeral'

Molly Bloom said...

I'd just like to say (just to put it on record) that I've never seen it...but even the trailers make me shudder.

'Inbetweeners' a film made by this bloke on my course at uni...Darren Fisher. He was in the Ballroom Dancing Soc and had a mini-fridge in his room. I rest my case.

Molly Bloom said...

Re Niowulf's comment about chicken...I once went out with a bloke who ate some raw chicken thighs when he came back from the pub he was so peckish.

He used to eat raw bacon too. I'm presenting a great image of my love-life here aren't I?

Excuse me while I'm sick again. Retch.

Dominic Zero said...

Kek - It's def Frank Doubleday - I feel I've let everyone down.
So who the fuck is Nick Castle?

I am not Kek-w said...

Dunno...but it's a great name. Maybe you should steal it and do a solo LP...!

Dominic Zero said...

There's an idea. I am gonna do a solo LP as soon as I get all my stuff transferred to CD, I was always going to call it 'Are You Mick Rawlings?'..But maybe 'Are You Nick Castle?' would be better.

I am not Kek-w said...

'Are You Mick Rawlings?' by Nick Castle.

Dominic Zero said...

Like it. Like it a lot.
