Bubba Ho-Tep

Saw Bubba Ho-Tep last night. It's great - a kind of mixed up Elvis vs The Mummy kind of thing. I knew nothing about it before hand, which is always a bonus, we only got it out because the Godlike Bruce Campbell is the star.
It's weird on quite a few levels.
Also saw Hellboy. Thought it was pretty good - always like a hefty dose of Nazi bad guys. Never read the comic, so I had no pre-conceived ideas going in. It did kind of run out of petrol towards the end - like most films - too long.

Bubba Ho-Tep: diected by Don Coscarelli, the guy behind the uber-cool lo-budget corker Phantasm. Apparently there are plans to make a whole series of 'Bubba' films starring Bruce as Pensioner Elvis 'fighting' various occult menaces...

Shit - I didn't know he was Phantasm man. At the end of the credits it says 'Coming soon - Elvis vs The She-Vampires'.
I have no idea why Bruce C isn't a huge star - he is just Genius.
