It's All About Me

Just a word to say that over on Kek-W Quarterly you can find my long lost play 'Blue Bone In October'. I wrote this back in, well, a fucking long time ago during a period of heavy experimentation with 20th Century drugs.

Suffice to say it's out there in the world now, and bless Kek for remembering it exists and for putting it up there.

It's well worth checking out this new venture of his anyway - great pieces by xTx and Bradley Sands are already up and I hear there's writers clammering to get on there - so best of luck to Kek with this fearless project.

Jeez, what drugs were u on? Just one question: Is the Trudy character concealed from the audience throughout? Just wondered 'cos there's no direction as to where she is sat, although we do have a very clear description of her in the script. (What are her boobs like?) I take it she is inside the wardrobe? She sounds hot anyway - I think you should turn this into a three parter - parts two and three being porn, naturally! Maybe they could cut holes in the wardrobe etc... :)

ps: didja get my email? are u still with virgin for this?

Well, I'll kind of take it that you liked it. The fact that you can't see Trudy is the whole point I guess.
Ypu're right, though, it should say she replies from inside the wardrobe. Hmm Drugs.
Haven't received your email. Should be the same address as it ever was.
Will send you some Susan Storm pix tomorrow then you can see if you've def got the right email for me.

Course I liked it - I LOVED it, man! I weren't bein' shitty, it ain't my style - I said "jeez, wot drugs wuz you on?" 'cos I wanna get some of whatever it was. You've no doubt forgotten anyway - and knowing you it was probably some esoteric cocktail of you and your fellow inmates at the red brick house's devising. I remember going there once. You played "High Class Butcher" or summat like that by JC and showed me a bunch of dodgey pictures of you dressed up like a soldier crawling round in mud and dieing and stuff. It was all a bit scary...

oh yeh, and what ARE her boobs like? (I visualised Nadine Coyle playing her part but with preposterous implants!)

Now I see where Beckett got his writing style from...

...though he might have had her boobs sticking out from the wardrobe, the rest of her invisible to the audience.

"Waiting to Fuckit"?

OK, enough about the boobs. As the stage directions state she's wearing a loose '80s tee shirt so her boob size would be irrelevant anyway. It's the chrome leggings that are important.
I think you're both missing the obvious Vietnam war references of the piece, and the reign of the Khmer Rouge. It's all there in the text, man.
And I was coming down off a purple microdot - and I wouldn't be at all surprised if I was listening to 'Hey High Class Butcher' by JC.
Glad you dudes like it.

Much as I hate to disagree with the author, the stage directions say Trudy is wearing a 'Belted ‘Choose Life’ tee shirt.' Assuming he meant a tee shirt with a belt, this would emphasise her boobs.

I totally missed the Khmer Rouge reference - I thought the play was about 'Stingray'.

Well, Stingray's in there of course. Hmm, belted tee shirt, I see your point. I'll have to go away & think about this.
