Finally got around to seeing Serenity. It's fucking fabulous. It's Firefly with more money. I don't know how successful it was, but I hope it was huge. Teach those cocksuckers at Fox to cancel a fine series and mess with Joss Whedon.

Loki and I were talking about this the other day.
It's like Star Wars, but Star Wars where they've remembered two crucial things:
1) Good writing does make a difference
2) The smugglers and bounty hunters were always more interesting than the Jedi

Yeah, that's very true.
In recent years Lucas should have hired a writer and a director.
I think there's def a sequel in the pipeline, pretty sure it did well in the US.
If the series had been given a chance it would've been huge, like Buffy, it took some getting into but the rewards were rich.
